Safety and trust
Trust is the point of Qalbii. Here is what we do to keep our sisters and brothers safe, and what you can do too.
Every member is ID-checked
Before anyone sees you, an ID service checks your ID and a live selfie. If it cannot confirm them, a trained moderator checks. You can look around while you wait, but nobody sees your profile until you are checked.
Members who pass get Verified ✓. It means the ID service checked their ID and a live selfie. It is not a background check, and it is not a promise about anyone's character.
- You prove both your mobile number and your email with codes.
- You must be 18 or over.
- Your gender must match your ID, and it is locked once you are checked.
- We keep a locked copy of your ID only until the check is decided, and delete it within 24 hours.
Photos are checked
An automatic check looks at every photo before other members can see it. A person looks only at the photos the check flags.
- At least 3 approved photos are needed before you are shown.
- Your main photo must show your face clearly and alone, and match your ID selfie.
- Modest clothing, no children, and no contact details or text in photos.
- You can hide your photos until you like someone back.
Safe chat
Your contact details stay hidden in chat until you both choose to share them. Photos in chat are allowed only from the Serious stage, and each one is checked.
- Messages are checked automatically, with warnings for things like scams or moving the chat to another app.
- Profile text gets the same automatic checks.
- You can unsend a message within 48 hours.
- The app asks your phone to block screenshots on private screens.
Reports and blocking
You can report or block anyone from their profile, a chat or a match page. They are not told it was you.
A serious report freezes the reported account until a trained moderator has looked at it. We aim to look at reports within 24 hours. When we have reviewed a report, we tell you in the app. Accounts that break our rules can be banned for good.
- Block a phone number or email, and the block holds if that person joins later.
- Tap Get help now in a chat's menu for 999 and UK helplines.
Meeting in person
The meeting planner helps you pick a busy public place, and you both confirm it. You can tell someone you trust where you will be. After the meeting, the app asks how it went. If you need help, it shows 999 and UK helplines straight away, and our team is alerted.
If you are in danger
